I applied for a job six months ago, and never heard back. Presumably, I didn’t meet their criteria. All this time, the job posting has stayed on the company’s website. How long do I have to wait before I reapply? Or is that frowned upon?

I have a degree in public relations and journalism. After I graduated, I fell into working for the BBC. Then, after two years, I went to work in reality TV. After a horrendous eight months at the reality TV job, I left.

I’ve recently moved to Canada with my husband who has a job here. I qualified as a dentist in Australia 15 years ago but have never loved it as a career, in fact, at times I was so stressed out with it I became depressed. In the end, I found a niche of dentistry that suited me but doesn’t exist where I live now.

I lead a team of five people in an IT company. I consistently seem to butt my head against the same thing. We make plans, decide who’s going to do what, but then consistently fall short – miss deadlines a bit here or there. The result is that we seem to keep lowering the bar, ever so slightly. What can I do to increase the accountability on our team?

When I was 28 I made what may be the worst decision in my life: Returning to school in a field unrelated to my previous degree and work history. When I first went to school I earned a BBA with an economics major. I then worked at a bank, but decided to return to school to study what I always wanted to: animation.

It drives me crazy that people on my team seem to have their eye on completely different goals. We do not seem to be dancing to the beat of the same drum, or heading in the same direction at all. Our team seems totally dysfunctional as a result. What can I do to fix this?
