I am an engineer and have been practising for 25 years. I want to keep working but preferably doing something else. I am in my 50s and could tolerate a moderate cut in pay to achieve happiness in my work, but I haven’t a clue where to start.

I’m a senior in university and am currently doing a part-time internship that pays only an honorarium but is at a reputable company that looks good on my résumé.

I applied for a job six months ago, and never heard back. Presumably, I didn’t meet their criteria. All this time, the job posting has stayed on the company’s website. How long do I have to wait before I reapply? Or is that frowned upon?

I have a degree in public relations and journalism. After I graduated, I fell into working for the BBC. Then, after two years, I went to work in reality TV. After a horrendous eight months at the reality TV job, I left.

I’ve recently moved to Canada with my husband who has a job here. I qualified as a dentist in Australia 15 years ago but have never loved it as a career, in fact, at times I was so stressed out with it I became depressed. In the end, I found a niche of dentistry that suited me but doesn’t exist where I live now.
